Times are undoubtedly tough for all as the economy still does not want to release it’s grip on everyone’s wallet for extra cash. Sponsorship dollars remain at a premium for even the best connected teams and almost non existent for the hard pressed, and little known alike. Things are no different for the so called brave that try to launch a new print publication in a tight fisted world of the seemingly dying print media world. At RWM, we have surely had more than our fair share of struggles, but seeing a desire for a truly different type of print media about all types of racing from a different slant leads us to believe we are on the right course.

The most important thing is to thank all that have helped so far along the way, and to pre-thank all that want to, and will help going forward. Our website is being totally reconstructed and hopefully that process will not delay much longer, as it at least on the drawing board, looks fantastic and should facilitate ease of navigation in the future. RWM is being restructured from top to bottom, inside and out and we are working diligently on a partnership with long term goals in mind that we are sure will silence the “nay sayers” and reassure the doubters going forward.

Moving forward the resolve at RWM remains the same, to provide a different and educational slant in the racing community for young and old experienced and not, grassroots and top level professional as well. Our passions remain steadfast fans first, media second, and we will continuously promote and grow all types and levels of racing with your help via input always something highly regarded. Stay tuned, updates here and on Facebook(3 sites), Twitter, and multiple racing forums will be posted much more frequently in the future, times may have seemed tough, but what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.

RallyCar race #3 November 6-7 @ NJMP in So.Jersey has attracted more European stars to the mix. After only two events, the best rallycross drivers in the world have found it necessary to be in the States for the third and final round of the 2010 U.S.RallyCross Championships. Probably the only other race in the USA that have a similar mix of diversified drivers would be the Rolex 24 held in Daytona, Florida, USA.

Brit Liam Doran will face X-Games, Rally-America, Formula Drift, and other stars as well as the newest entries from Europe. None other than the likes of 2009& 2010 ERC Champion Sverre Isaachsen of Norwat in his blazingly fast Ford Focus ST T16 4×4 which he used in this years FIA championship. Liam Doran will of course be piloting his Cintreon C4 sporting different gears that will greatly enhance his straightaway speed to 160 mph +. Also joining the fray will be Frode Holte of Norway bringing his highly developed VolvoC30 T16 4×4. Holte was seventh in the ERC this year.

Joining Isaacshen and Holte is Per Eklund of Sweden in a Saab 9 3 ASS T16 4×4. Amazingly Eklund was ranked 22nd in the 2010 ERC after running less than HALF of of the events! American Tanner Foust that has done battle with theses guys in the ERC with some success has them seeking to get a little revenge on his home turf. Let’s not forget Kiwi Rhys Millen in his in his badass Hyundai Accent Mk2/LC.

The gloves are off, the drivers and race promoters have been in constant and extensive brainstorming sessions to make this the newest and most fan friendly, high intensity deal to hit the racing scene in a long time. Trust me when I say, this is going to be HUGE if not, why would ESPN have sucked up the rights to broadcast this new face of motorsports? Go to NJMP.com for tickets and information, it is only $20 per carload, yes, carload to get in so how can you not want to check it out?

Racing World Magazine/Media will be in the house shooting photos and video, so if you have a favorite and want a photo, be in touch, we’ll hook you up.

Rhys will debut in a 2002 Hyundai WRC car, with his experience he seems to be an instant threat.

After a few fast and furious weeks of high level, high speed karting that was infused with International racers, it is time to stoke up for the return of Rally, X-Games, Pro Formula Drifts mega stars and more at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville,NJ. With race 1 under the belt, teams have a better understanding of what it will take to tame the beast of this Euro style racing. Most have vowed to bring more horsepower and suspension package changes to the game.

Many of the competitors have expressed high levels of anticipation about race 2 of 3. Tanner Faust will have to look over his shoulder much harder to keep Lagerman, Pastrana, and the like in his rearview mirror. A technical error caused Travis Pastrana the win in Race 1, so it is safe to say he’ll be hunger in Race 2.

This is an excellent way to get up close and personal with drivers, cars and crews, as paddock access is open to all spectators! If you want to race your piece in the upcoming event, just contact the track @ www.njmp.com and they will hook you up with the required registration information. If you just want to watch, use the same site to purchase two-fer tickets ahead of time along with great camping as well. See you trackside!

October 2-4 sees Rally Car return to NJMP’s Lightning Course for round 2 of 3 RallyCross series. X-Games, Formula Drift, Rally Stars, and more all competing door to door asphalt to dirt and back. The inaugural race presented fans with beating and banging, pushing and shoving excitement in each of then sprint races all to the delight of not only the fans, but even more so to the competitors. Tanner Faust, Travis Pastrana, Wyatt Knox, Chris Duplessis, “Here’s Johnny” Tancredi and others not only put on a great show, but speaking to them afterward, they were Major League Stoked!!!!!

They are all excited and promised to be much more ready now that they know what to expect, because you see, this form of Rallying had never been done in the United States before. If the taunts and promises are only HALF of what was tossed out there, this should be one whale of a show.

Go to NJMP.com for the buy one-get-one offer, the code should be RC or just ask for the twofer. Camping is available offering some awesome viewing of the action. I’m taking my rig for sure this time. The fans are great, crowds suprisingly large for a first time event, and better than that, you have full access to the drivers and crews. Stop by and meet the superstars and the up and coming sleepers that steal the show. Why not bring your car and race too, contact Rally-America or NJMP for rules and requirements. I think the entry fee is only $100 pre race, so come on club racers and everyone else join the race or just join the fun!

See YOU trackside.

TRISTAN VAUTIER CLAIMS HIS SECOND VICTORY OF THE SEASON IN ROUND 3 OF THE

STAR MAZDA CHAMPIONSHIP VISITFLORIDA CUP AT NEW JERSEY MOTORSPORTS PARK

New Jersey Motorsports Park (June 27, 2010) – Frenchman Tristan Vautier claimed his second victory of the 2010 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear driving the #38 Andersen Racing / Moulin TP / Cecibon / Circuit du Laquais Mazda in Round 3 of the VISITFLORIDA Cup at New Jersey Raceway Park. Starting from the outside of the second row, he took the lead from pole-sitter Conor Daly’s #22 Juncos Racing / INDECK / The College Network / Merchant Services Ltd. Mazda on the opening lap and led all the way to the checkered. Finishing 2nd – his third podium of the season — after starting 8th in the #18 Team Apex / Wabash Capital Investments Mazda was Brazilian Joao Victory Horto. Rounding out the top-3 was Norwegian racer Anders ‘The Viking’ Krohn, scoring his third podium of the season in the #47 Andersen Racing / Norse Cutting & Abandonment / Trallfa / Colosseum Mazda. Krohn was holding tight to second place until the final lap when his gearbox stuck in 6th and Horto was able to pass.

“It’s the end of a long nightmare for me and the Andersen Racing team with a win in the first race and then so much bad luck in one race after another,” says the young driver from Grenoble, France who won the season-opener at Sebring. “I was able to make a four second gap over Conor by about halfway, but then his tires went off toward the end and I finished seven seconds ahead of Joao. I has so much emotion crossing the finish line that I almost broke my steering wheel becaue I was so happy. The Andersen Racing team has worked so hard for this, and all my sponsors who helped make it happen. And to hold this VISITFLORIDA trophy again makes me feel like we have turned a corner and we can show what a good team we are during the rest of the season.”

In the Expert Series (drivers aged 30-44) Californian Patrick O’Neill crossed the finish line first in class and 15th overall in the #64 JDC Motorsports / O’Neill Construction Mazda. Leading the Master Series (driver 44 and older) was Puerto Rico native Carlos Conde with an 18th-place finish in his #31 Team GDT / Pronto-GMT / Olympus Securities Mazda. This is the second in-class victory for both O’Neill and Conde, both of whom won their respective classes in Round 2 at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

Rounding out the top-5 was Horto’s Team Apex teammate, Venezuelan racer Jorge Goncalves in the #9 Team Apex / Wabash Capital Investments Mazda. Brazilian Caio Lara, winner of yesterday’s Race 1 / Round 6, brought his #19 JDC Motorsports / MLD / ATW Mazda home in 6th. MAZDASPEED Motorsports Driver Development Ladder scholarship winner (and 2009 Skip Barber Pro Series Champion) Connor De Phillippi, finished 8th in the #11 JDC Motorsports / MAZDASPEED Motorsports / Skip Barber Mazda. The lone female racer in the field, colombian Tatiana Calderon, matched her best finish so far this year, scoring a 9th-place finish in the #25 Juncos Racing / Kia Motors Mazda. Another drive of note came from Ohio native Larry Pegram, a top rider in the AMA SuperBike class making his first-ever start in a Star Mazda Championship race. After qualifying 21st in the #72 AIM Autosport / Tampa Bay Jaw Surgery / Foremost Insurance Mazda, he moved up to finish 16th overall.

The hard luck award of the day goes to Quebec racer Mikael Grenier who qualified 3rd in the #17 Andersen Racing / Slow Cow / April Super Flow / NAPA Auto Parts / HS Telecom / Desharnais Mazda, but finished 21st, four laps down.

All the racing action this weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park, including the Star Mazda Championship, the USF2000 National Championship powered by Mazda and Mazda MX-5 Cup was broadcast live on HDnet as part of the VISITFLORIDA Cup. In addition to the live broadcast, one of the Star Mazda Championship races will be cable syndicated across the USA, Canada and worldwide and aired in the next few weeks.

Drivers in the Star Mazda Championship are contending two championships at stake this season, the overall Series championship and the VISITFLORIDA Cup, which will go to the driver scoring the most points in the seven televised races during the 2010 season. VISITFLORIDA races include the season-opener at Sebring, the double-headers at New Jersey Motorsports Park and Autobahn Country Club (broadcast live on HDnet) as well as Mosport and the season finale at Road Atlanta.

Daly leads the Series championship with four wins, five poles and 289 points, followed by Anders Krohn with a pole, three podiums and six top-5 finishes for 248 points. Horto’s podium finish moves him up in to 3rd in the championship with 234 points (making him also the leading contender for ‘Rookie of the Year’ honors). Tristan Vautier is 4th with 226 points with Caio Lara rounding out the top-5 with 223 points. Texan J.W. Roberts, who won the Expert Series yesterday driving the #65 Team GDT / General Data Tech Mazda and finished third in class today leads the category with 110 points while Master Series driver Gerry Kraut, who also won yesterday and finished 3rd today in his #55 JDC Motorsports / Dougherty & Co. / Dougherty Funding LLC Mazda also leads his class.

BRAZILIAN CAIO LARA DE-RAILS CONOR DALY’S HISTORIC WINNING STREAK WITH HIS

FIRST-EVER STAR MAZDA VICTORY IN RACE 1 / ROUND 6 AT NEW JERSEY MOTORSPORTS PARK

New Jersey Motorsports Park (June 26, 2010) – The Gods of Racing have had their laugh. The more you talk about a record waiting to be broken, somehow the less likely it becomes. Starting from the pole for the fourth time this season, Conor Daly – starting from the pole for the fourth time this season — was reasonably expecting to break the all-time Star Mazda Championship win record of four in a row. Until the green light signaling the traditional Star Mazda standing start, that is. What the officials saw on TV was both Daly and Vautier, starting side-by-side on the front row, accelerating before the green… which resulted in a drive-through penalty for both drivers that dropped them to the back of the field.

Then there was one of those multi-car, ‘what were they thinking’ melees between several of the top runners, compounded by yet another incident as the re-formed field approached the starter’s stand for a resumption of racing. Throughout this long full-course yellow, third-season Brazilian racer Caio Lara, driving the #19 JDC Motorsports / MLD / ATW Mazda, was in the lead… a lead he lost when 2nd-place finisher Anders ‘The Viking’ Krohn passed him briefly – and was re-passed in return on the same lap. And surely he must have been hearing in his headphones about the relentless charge of Conor Daly, a man on a mission who performed racing’s version of kinetic miracles carving his way back up through the field to salvage a podium finish.

The top-finishing driver in the Master/Expert category was Master Series (driver 45 and older) racer Gerry Kraut, who qualified 16th and finished 13th overall in his #55 JDC Motorsports / Dougherty & Co. / Dougherty Funding LLC Mazda. Leading the charge among the Expert Series racers (drivers 30-44 years old) was Texan J.W. Roberts, who finished 14th overall at the wheel of his #65 Team GDT / General Data Tech Mazda.

“I’m so happy to finally score my first win in Star Mazda and all my thanks to the JDC Motorsports team for giving me a car capable of winning the race,” said Lara, who has scored top-5 finishes in both races at NJMP last season and, by virtue of his victory today, has move up to 5th in the championship with 193 points. “The car was the best is has been all season, and now with the confidence of this win, we must work hard to qualify well tomorrow and try to repeat this outcome.”

Lara has been a consistently fast competitor this year; he has already scored one podium — and finished in the top-10 at every race. Daly remains in the lead with 254 points, four wins, four podiums and two podiums. Anders Krohn, who started from the pole at the 12 Hours of Sebring season-opener, remains second in the championship with 211 points, two podiums and four top-5 finishes.

Vautier, who started from the front row alongside Daly and suffered the same drive-through penalty- also slashed his way back up through the field in his #38 Andersen Racing / Moulin TP / Cecibon / Circuit du Laquais Mazda to finish 6th. In between, MAZDASPEED Motorsports Driver Development Ladder driver Connor De Phillippi moved up from 7th on the starting grid to finish 4th in his #11 JDC Motorsports / MAZDASPEED Motorsports / Skip Barber Mazda. And quick young Quebec racer Mikael Grenier, who started from 6th on the grid in the #17 Andersen Racing / Slow Cow / April Super Flow / NAPA Auto Parts / HS Telecom / Desharnais Mazda, raced his way up to 5th. Larry Pegram, the AMA SuperBike racer making his 4-wheeled debut in the #72 AIM Autosport / Tampa Bay Jaw Surgery / Foremost Insurance Mazda, started 19th on the grid and finished 17th.

There was a number of lead changes, some suprises and disappointments, and oh yes, racing lessons learned. On the Lightning Course all the excitement one could want was of the two wheeled variety, and in the mix but not overlooked was the F1 activities!

Back to the Thunderbolt Course, two wheel championship racer Larry Pegram ran in the Star Mazda,Visit Florida Championship Series, and ran a respectable stint all the while rapidly increasing his learning curve in an entirely different racing venue. As the weekend went along, Pegram’s times got better and one could see confidence and ability growing.

Andy Lally is the epitome of dedication. As I have watched Andy do what ever it takes to benefit his team, he is ALL IN. There are no questions, hesitations, doubts, as to what he believes in, and commits himself to, period. Like an example of of a person that sold everything he had to buy a precious gem of much value, there is the analogy of Andy Lally.

Andy is more than a dream chaser, he is a man of sound principal, a believer and supporter of what he commits himself to do. Cudo’s to Mom and Pop, you done good, just like we all try to do with our own. Even still, thru a rise to and thru the ranks, Andy has never foregone what has advanced him to where he is today, because he firmly grasps just how fragile and fleeting things can be in the racing world.

I am very proud to be considered as somewhat of a friend to Andy just because of how he carries himself not only as a professional, but as a human being, trying to be a decent human being in a very unstable world in which we live.

The associated photo shows how Andy put a “Perma-Grin” on the face of a true racer (using his own car), after taking the owner of the McKee Andy is seen in the photo, during a session announcing the “Official” opening of TRG/East at New Jersey Motorsports Park, a world class racing facility, featuring not one, but two, World Class Courses
